GoPro HERO5 Black - Not quite waterproof

In advance of a recent family vacation, I decided now was a good time to finally buy a GoPro.  Not having owned any previous GoPro model prior, I was pretty stoked at getting to capture some awesome footage.

That excitement quickly turned to frustration.   On the first day of using the camera, it leaked!

Wait!  Isn’t this thing waterproof?   According to their website, yes.

Now to be fair to GoPro, their customer support representative was very helpful and ‘allowed’ me to return the water-logged camera for a replacement.   Having received the replacement GoPro, I’m a bit gun-shy about the prospect of submersing it in water.
